All learning is social and emotional. Math routines are a way for teachers to nurture positive relationships and safe environments where SEL can develop AND mathematical content can be explored deeply. This session is focused on explicit Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) instruction in math through the use of instructional routines. In this interactive webinar we will explore connections between the Standards for Mathematical Practice and CASEL’s SEL Framework (Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making) using routines that are ripe with opportunities to develop SEL in K-12 classrooms.
