Thank you so much to everyone who was able to join us at our Spring learning event! Our 4 speakers were amazing and provided meaningful dialogue and collaboration between our ATMIM members.
Here’s what participants shared about their experience:
“So well structured, warm tone, engaging, smart....such a well-designed and well-delivered workshop.”
“Loved having the opportunity to dive deep into some instructional routines. Seeing and discussion all the positive outcomes that come from routines (equity, problem solving, building vocabulary, defending an answer, learning with and from each other, flexibility), was a great reminder of how valuable they are for all learners!”
“Thorough, thoughtful, engaging. Thank you for links to the website to help with creating materials for my students.“

Message from ATMIM President
Naomi Dupre-Edelman
It’s finally spring! I hope you all found a moment to breathe over your spring break. For those of you in the midst of state testing, you’re almost there — just a few more days to go. As we move into May, I find myself reflecting on the year behind us and looking ahead to the opportunities and changes the next year will bring.
One area I’m especially focused on is strengthening tiered instruction in my school. Tiered math instruction is a topic we don’t discuss nearly enough across grade levels, and balancing high expectations, access to grade‑level content, and meeting students where they are can be challenging. Having a community to explore these ideas with is essential, and ATMIM has been that space for me — a place to collaborate, share, and grow.
As we look back on our work as a board this year and look forward to the next, we hope to offer even more opportunities for you to connect with one another, engage in meaningful conversations, and continue advocating for strong mathematics experiences for students across Massachusetts.
Throughout May, I’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to email me at ndupre@mtholyoke.edu with your favorite end‑of‑year activities, reflection practices, or ideas you’re excited to try next year. We’d be thrilled to share some of your contributions with the broader ATMIM community.
In the meantime, remember that summer is almost here, even if it feels like May has secretly decided to stretch itself into a marathon. This stretch of the year can feel long, but it’s also when the relationships you’ve built and the effort you’ve invested begin to shine. You’re doing thoughtful, dedicated work, and the finish line is closer than it seems.
